Attraction Marketing: My Road to Network Marketing and the role of the Book "The Alchemist"
Monday, September 15, 2008 at 05:54PM - "My Heart Is Afraid that it will have to suffer," the boy told the alchemist one night as they looked up at the moonless sky.
- "Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams."
Every few decades a book is published that changes the lives of its readers forever. "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho is such a book for me. I've heard about this book for a while, but did not get a chance to read it. Couple of weeks ago I stopped at my friend's and she had the book in her hands. I asked if I can borrow the book. I read it next day without taking a single break.
Read on and you will learn what role it played in my life...
"People are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of..."
"The Alchemist" is the magical story of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd, who in his dream realizes that a treasure is hidden in the great Sahara desert. He is a boy who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure as extravagant as any ever found. He decides to go forward and get that treasure. From his home in Spain he journeys to the markets of Tangiers and across the Egyptian desert.
During his journey he meets people from very different background. He meets his true love. He witness battles and even risks his own life. He even meets a true alchemist and learns the art of turning lead into Gold. It is during this journey the writer teaches us some of the most important lessons of our lives.
The story of the treasures Santiago finds along the way teaches us, as only a few stories have done, about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, learning to read the omens strewn along life's path, and, above all, following our dreams.
"You're different from me, because you want to realize your dreams..."
Although the writer calls it a story of following one's dreams, I believe it's a lesson that teaches us to believe in ourselves. The reason is that dreams might be un-realistic, but self belief can make you achieve those un-realistic goals.
The first message that the writer conveys is to follow one's dreams. Every one of us has certain dreams which we want to fulfill but believe we neither have the resources or the opportunity to do the same. When we decide to turn our dreams into reality all we need to do is to take the first step in that direction. The next step will automatically follow. Most of us never try to build up courage to follow our desires and hence fail.
The second message is to believe in our selves and the nature around us. Let us not forget that all the qualities that we have were gifted to us by nature. Nature is fair to only those who are fair in return. We need to understand the language of Nature, the way it communicates.
The third message is that every action counts and just like Newton said it, it has an equal and opposite reaction. Upon failure we may argue that luck wasn't on our side, but the fact is luck is nothing but nature's reaction our own actions. What we call as an omen is nature's message in return of our efforts.
"Everyone seems to have a clear idea at how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own. "
I've been surfing Internet for a while searching for something that will give me an opportunity to stay home and earn some money. After I read the Book, I knew that information is somewhere close, I just needed to see clues to find it. And... Bingo! - firts, I found "The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing" by Ann Sieg. I downloaded and read it at once. Right away I knew, that this is what I've been looking for. So, I bought "The Renegade Network Marketer" . It opened enormous possibilities for me, but I still did not have enough information. I scratched my head and could not figure out how to implement what she was talking about. There was never a doubt in my mind that it could work, but I just did not see where to start. So, I continue looking ... What I found next was even better, I found "The Renegade University" . I took a look at the materials and started reading. Then I signed up for a professional membership. I fugure I would just pay $1, sign up for a week or at least for a month, look around, download all materials, and then cancel my subscription if it turned out to be worthless. But I was not disappointed. This is a great system that is not only have step-by-step videos on how to do Internet Marketing free, but also shows you how to monetize your marketing strategies as well, so you can make money while marketing your Internet or primary MLM business.
"Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going."
I found "The Alchemist" to be the most motivating. I believe it to be a classic tale of personal growth and pursuit of your dreams. It teaches you to be honest with yourself, kind with others, wise with your own decisions. It serves you as a guide to show you that you're not the only one who feels lost at times and who thinks about giving up. The book promises that it will be totally worth it when you overcome fears and obstacles and eventually make your dream come true. And the most important thing is that life give you clues - you just need to see them
